Choosing a Laboratory
How is JTS different from large multinational testing labs?
Both JTS and the large multinational testing companies operating in Taiwan are commercial, third-party laboratories accredited by Taiwan's Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) — neither is a government laboratory. Any laboratory accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard is qualified to undertake testing.
Be cautious of marketing claims such as "certified non-toxic by [a lab]" or "passed [a lab]'s food certification." These are not accurate: testing laboratories issue test reports for specified methods and parameters — they do not grant blanket "certifications" or endorse products. What matters is that the laboratory holds ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for the specific tests your product requires.
What does laboratory accreditation mean? What makes a laboratory "professional"?
To become accredited, a laboratory must perform testing in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025, undergo on-site assessment by qualified assessors, and pass review by an expert committee — a rigorous, multi-stage process. Accredited laboratories are then subject to ongoing oversight, including scheduled and unannounced audits and proficiency testing using blind samples of unknown composition, to continuously verify testing quality. Accreditation can be suspended or revoked for laboratories that issue false reports or fail proficiency tests — which is why results from an accredited laboratory carry far greater assurance.
With so many laboratories, why choose JTS?
JTS is an independent, third-party testing laboratory accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 international standard, providing testing across food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. JTS holds multiple domestic and international accreditations:
• TAF-Accredited Testing Laboratory (Reg. No. 3148)
• TFDA Food Testing Accreditation (F083)
• TFDA Pharmaceutical Testing Institution (D046)
• TFDA Cosmetics Testing Institution (C017)

Testing Process
What is the process once I decide to submit samples?
For full step-by-step details, please see our How to Submit Samples page. In brief:
• Confirm pricing, turnaround, required sample weight and packaging with us, then complete and sign the application form and send it together with your samples.
• Standard turnaround is 7–10 working days (excluding holidays and the sample arrival day); express service is available on request.
• Reports are issued as electronic files in Chinese or English — one language is free; a second language incurs a small administrative fee. A Taiwan e-invoice is issued together with the report.
• Payment should be completed before samples are sent.
